Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 67: All You Can Drink Champagne Exists (And It's A Wonderful Thing)

Day 67: All You Can Drink Champagne Exists (And It's A Wonderful Thing)

When my friend Lani said there was a Halloween party on at the Hilton in Shinjuku with all you can drink champagne (yes, actual champagne, not sparkling wine) for ¥3,800 I was 100% in. When I was the most hungover I'd been the entire trip after Friday night's adventures, I was sitting at about -5.47% in but you can't let the team down and apparently the best way to get over a hangover is to drink again (I question this logic).

Side note: the Hilton Tokyo has a ladies special that you (if you are of the female gender) can get 90 minutes of all you can drink champagne and champagne cocktails for ¥3,500. Not much of a view, but it's a pretty amazing deal. Check it out here.

I had a nail appointment booked in at Espoir in Shibuya. I'd been looking forward to this for a while (I loooove going to Japanese nail salons) but the hangover was real and I was unable to string a sentence together in English let along Japanese. Fortunately the reclining chairs were crazy comfortable, I'd already pre-chosen my design and all I had to do was sit there for 75 minutes while she worked her magic. And voila, nails that are wayyyy prettier than I felt!

Every year, I have plans to be super creative and organised for Halloween and as usual I left it to the last minute and ended up with only glittery face stickers and colourful false eyelashes. Maybe I'll do better next year, but in reality I probably won't.

S/O to Tania for going all in on the Halloween thing though.

Those temporary tattoos were a nightmare to take off the next day. Fortunately mine was only on my wrist, I have no idea what Klara did with the tattoo on her face. Yikes.

After placing the tattoos on various parts of our bodies and probably drinking too much champagne, we headed out for dinner in Shimokitazawa.

But not before taking a few street snaps.

Lani took us to an izakaya in Shimo called Kokera who specialise in seafood. The food here is incredible and not expensive either.

So much sashimi.Surprisingly we made it in time for the last train, so no cab for us. Also, after two nights of all you can drink, we have decided to take a much needed break from nomihodai lest our bodies rebel against us.
