Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 76: Coffee Dates

Day 76: Coffee Dates

Ahhhh, just an easy day today. Coffee with Vivian and Anri at this great little cafe called Sarutahiko Coffee in Sengawa followed by spending a tonne of time in the chemist picking up "cult" Japanese beauty products.

After spending the afternoon with them I headed home and did my usual thing – look for jobs online (the hunt is real), watch either Jane The Virgin/Suits/Terrace House and eat something along the lines of Japanese curry and miso soup. This is my life now.

Sarutahiko Coffee is one of the many new coffee shops that have opened up in Tokyo in the last year or so. Tokyo used to be a deadzone for good coffee, but in typical Japanese fashion, a few people decided to take on the world of coffee and get as close to perfection as possible. Now you can get cold brews and pour overs alongside your super sweet caramel lattes (which I'm into) and seasonal coffees. Sarutahiko Coffee roasts there own coffee beans and you can kind of see it up the back of the photo.

I laughed at first when I saw this on the menu. It was called Sarutahiko's Slut. I thought maybe it was a mistake but apparently they were inspired by Eggslut in LA and tried to do their own version.

Vivian lives on the same train line as me so we jumped on this horse train (they are really pushing the horse racing here at the moment) and headed home.
