Day 78: Hafu Catch Up
Today was one of those days where I realised I didn't have quite enough content to make for an interesting post. Or, more accurately, I forgot to take photos of anything I did today because it was all fairly normal or didn't really seem all that newsworthy. But here we go nonetheless.
Are you still reading or have you clicked away even though I've already forewarned you of this post's hacked together-ness?
I spent most of the daylight hours searching and applying for jobs. You probably don't need me to tell you that job hunting is challenging at the best of times and it's particularly difficult while I'm in Tokyo because I can't have in person interviews. But no matter, applying for new jobs is kind of exciting so *hopefully* I'll be able to line up something before I get back to Sydney.
Later that day I met up with Megumi who was the creator of the Hafu Film, a documentary I was in when I was living here back in 2010. Her and her husband were visiting from NYC so we made time to catch up and see how life is going for each of us these days. It was during those final few hours of the American election where it was looking as though Trump was going to win (though we didn't have a definite answer at this point) so all of us were a bit distracted and a little on edge.
I don't really talk about my time being a part of this documentary, in fact, I almost forget that I was even in a documentary until someone brings it up or I meet somebody who has seen the film and recognised me (this doesn't happen often at all but when it does it kind of blows my mind).
In case you're interested, here is the trailer for the movie. And if you haven't seen it, you should – it's really well done.
