Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 60: Closed Beach, Schmosed Beach

Day 60: Closed Beach, Schmosed Beach

Just another day in paradise [insert palm tree emoji here]. It was a wonderfully sunny day so we decided to drive the 45 minutes up to Sunset Beach which was apparently gorgeous and had amenities. Well, after the drive past pineapple farms (more on those later) and tiny towns, we got to the beach. And it was closed. But we wouldn't be deterred! We'd driven too far in the humidity not to go so we found a make shift parking lot and found a path to this beautiful white sand, clear water beach.

Clearly other people had the same idea as us and somehow found their way to the beach too. Pfft, closed beach?

Note: I think it was closed because it was the end of the season, so I don't think we were actually doing anything illegal.

I'm into these beaches that don't have waves.

Adam to me just before this photo was taken, "Ew, you're wet. Don't touch me. I'm trying to stay dry." He's a real beach lover, obviously.

We drove past this pineapple farm on the way to the beach and I was so keen to come back and check out their little shop. Here they sold fresh cut pineapples from their farm.

Fresh pineapples!

¥500 for a fresh cut pineapple. This was the sweetest pineapple I've ever had.

This place also had this random "zoo". What was even more strange was that there was an emu in the next pen. How did they get an emu to Okinawa?

Excuse the weird pose but there was a huge ass wasp flying around just as this photo was being taken.

There's not all that much choice if restaurants in Kabira Bay, but at least there are a few and they seem to be pretty good (not those usual god awful small town restaurants you often come across). This place was called Yui and served Okinawan food …

This place was called Yui and served Okinawan food (do they serve anything else around here?). He had the baseball on and some pretty great wallpaper, as well as good food which he cooked himself in his tiny kitchen.
