Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 40: A Holiday Record

Day 40: A Holiday Record

It comes as no surprise that Adam and I haven't been shying away from eating. It also comes as no surprise that we are getting a little (a lot) rounder. Well, we tackled that with a 18km walk around and around Florence. Sure, there was panini, gelato and wine dotted along the way, but 18km is HUGE and a holiday record for us. Take that, calories!

Another unsuccessful attempt to enter the Duomo. Florence is lovely and beautiful but it's ruined by the sheer number of tourists. The line up to get into the Duomo at any given time was about two hours and I had no desire to wait in line for that. …

And that's a bird photobombing my shot of the tower.

Conversely, the Gucci Museo was pretty much empty. I'd never really thought much of Gucci until visiting this museum. The vintage travel accessories and clothes were stunning and I need this Gucci car in my life.

I'm all about the Gucci detailing.

A few friends said the panini from All'Antico Vinaio was a life changing sandwich. I'm partial to a good sandwich, so we headed there for lunch. Like most things in Florence, there was a line but we were commited – we were getting this panini no matter what. There are five panini you can choose from and don't even think of going off menu.

No country for vegans.

Ahh, Florence.

Ahh, Florence.

Our little Airbnb haven that overlooks the city from all sides. We feet were sore and we had no plans to leave again after that 18km walk.

Oh yes, that gelato at the top was from this gelato shop called Il Procopio and was recommended to us by the Airbnb host. It was fantastic – creamy, smooth and made with real flavours, it was one of the best I've had.
