Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 72: Jimbocho Den x Shake Shack Burgers

Day 72: Jimbocho Den x Shake Shack Burgers

As mentioned in my previous post, I love me a limited edition Japan only product. And the Jimbocho Den x Shake Shake collaboration was about as limited and Japan only as it got.

We turned up at 10.20am (the place opened at 11am) and there was already a line of burger enthusiasts there. Le sigh. I wouldn't ~usually~ wait in line for a burger but I am in Tokyo, I have no job AKA all the time in the world and it was a pretty special collaboration. So in the line I waited.

The line for the burgers. Fortunately being Japan it was neat and orderly. Plus it was good weather so it was quite pleasant being outside (thank god).

Jimbocho Den's Zaiyu Hasegawa came out and was thanking people in the line for coming (cute) so I fanned out and asked to get a photo with him.

Finally! After an hour in line we got to the front. DEN Shack burgers for all!

The burger had a patty, bacon, cheese, miso sauce and cucumbers in it and was created to help celebrate Shake Shack's one year anniversary in Japan.

Kitchen crew hard at work.

After waiting another 15 minutes for our burgers, shakes and fries, Adam triumphantly bought them back to our table. For a crew that were pumping out these burgers, they actually look a lot like the picture which is a pretty impressive feat.

Adam to me: Stop taking photos and let's eat the damn burgers. Good call, Adam. Good call. The burgers tasted quite – for want of a better word – Japanese. The miso and the cucumbers probably had something to do with it. It was good but intense …

The burgers tasted quite – for want of a better word – Japanese. The miso and the cucumbers probably had something to do with it. It was good but intense and I'm happy that we bothered waking up early(ish) and heading out there to try it. Yay us!

More and more people lining up for the burgers.

For dinner, our friend Lani (another hafu!) invited us over to her apartment for dinner. Girl made pulled pork, mac and cheese and papaya salad and it was goooooood. Did we do anything else today other than eat?!
