Day 102: Juicy, Juicy Katsu

Woahhhh, look at that close up shot of the katsu. Now that's one juicy mf. 

We wanted to keep it relaxed today after the week of non-stop day trips and overnight stays. We hadn't had good tonkatsu yet so decided to find one that was a) highly rates b) not so highly rated that we'd have to wait in line for hours c) in our price range. Enter Tonkatsu Takebun in Yoyogi. It's in a pretty schmick looking building and specialises in tonkatsu. Plus, their lunch deal is only about ¥1500, so all signs pointed to eating lunch here.

When we turned up, there was no line (hooray!) and were sat down straight away upstairs. Thank goodness because I was hungry.

I love these places with very small menus. It makes even the most indecisive of people decisive. All I had to decide was which cut of pork and then what size. Easy.

The tonkatsu here was so juicy and soooooo delicious. It was crispy on the outside and heaven on the inside. Highly recommend this spot.

After the wonderfulness that was tonkatsu, we took a walk around the area which is filled with little shops and cafes. It's all pretty calm and quiet and you really don't feel like you're a short walk from Shibuya.

A new cheese shop is about to open! By the time we left Tokyo this place was open for business.

Aaaaaan in another success story for today, I had to buy a new toothbrush, which would usually be boring but no. This one is called "Profits" and is baby pink. I feel nothing but positive about this toothbrush.
