Day 117: The Highs To The Lows
Oh god it's happening. The final few days are upon us and it's getting real. Truth be told, I'm quite ready to go back to Sydney. I'm done with the cold weather, my terrible eczema and am keen to get to the beach, see my family and (hopefully) gain some employment. Not that I haven't loved my holiday, I'm just feeling ready to go home.
Getting in one last well-priced Ippudo ramen before going back to Sydney's expensive Ippudo. I was a little ambitious with the spice level and ended up sweating my way through half of the bowl before giving up.
I'm enjoying my "training" hoop earrings. I've been wanting to get my ears pierced for a little while and am giving clip ons a go to see if I like the look of earrings on me. I do.
I am not going to mess with this angry kitty.
Our friend Lani is the queen of happy hour. We went to the Hyatt Regency in Shinjuku for 50% off all drinks – even whisky and champagne!
Eau de Vie is a dark and moody cocktail bar and I was allllll about the half priced drinks.
Champagne and whisky crew. We fancy. Half priced fancy.
How about those chandeliers?
We then went to a cheap izakaya near Shibuya where some of Lani's friend also happened to be.
Deep fried avocado and Lani's amazing nails.
We then found ourselves at Bridge in Shibuya. I'm thinking this is like the new Trump Room (the club I used to go to all the time when I lived in Tokyo).
I'm not sure what's so funny.
2am(ish) and we weren't ready to go home. Sooooo...
Off to a little wine bar which was amazingly and wonderfully still open and serving snacks. Japan's late night business is the best.
Late night/early morning cured meats? No problems.
I'm not sure how we're still functioning. Though, we didn't know it at the time but Lani had lost her wallet somewhere between the club and this wine bar. Fast forward 15 minutes and panic ensues.
Fortunately, with Japan being Japan, someone had found Lani's wallet on the street and handed it into the police station.
