Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Unless there’s a beach nearby, I’m not one for humid weather. So I went to visit my friends and family in Sydney for 2 weeks, which was a great escape from Tokyo’s stickiness. Here are some photos I took on my little trip with my brand new Instax camera I got for free thanks to my Bic Camera points.

First night – I visited my friends Alex, Ed and their new family member, Ernie. I’m highly allergic to cats and this was the closest I got to him. Although it didn’t stop me from developing allergies that plagued me for the rest of the week. Cute cat though.

A highlight was surprising one of my best friends – Jane – at her farewell. She had no idea I was coming so it was brilliant to see the look on her face when I showed up. It was a “Britannia” theme and Marie, Julia and I came as characters from Alice in Wonderland. Jane came as Twiggy, but I think she looked more like JK Rowling.

Delicious food from Mamak – a great Malaysian food in Chinatown with old workmates from Taste.com.au.

A couple of wines with Pat from generally awesome Sydney band The Lost Valentinos.

More wines with my ex housemate Jen. We’d just seen Bridesmaids, which was surprisingly good.

My friend Alex’s birthday involved free wine and beer and a game of pass the parcel which resulted in blow up saxophones, mini chilli dogs from Gardel’s Bar, 3am pies from Pie Face and an unfortunate theme song.
