Day 22: Exactly What I Needed
After a filling few days in Napoli it was time to head to the Amalfi Coast. I've been looking forward to this part of the trip for months – a fancy hotel with a view and four days to do nothing more than swim, tan and read.
Adam looking a bit James Dean-like at our hotel's rooftop breakfast in Napoli.
Why so sad?
And we're off to Praiano!
We decided to fork out for a private transfer down from Napoli to Praiano because a) dealing with the bus sounded like a nightmare and b) hiring a car and driving those crazy roads down the coast was too much for our souls to handle.
In an effort to make up for the crazy money spending of the last few weeks, we decided to try a more DIY approach to eating and drinking here. It's actually pretty easy to do when your balcony has this view.
We took a little walk down the beach. It's about ten minutes down, but a steep and tiring climb back up we soon found out.
You'll probably see a million of these photos throughout our few days here.
We plan to get a lot more tanned. Watch this space.
Just a tiny patch of sun left at La Praia beach.
I'll be seeing you tomorrow.
Oh god, these stairs. They just keep on going.
The view from our balcony – there's a hammock and communal seating area as well as a pool on the lower level.
Looking south on our way to dinner at Kasai. Good thing we booked, because it was packed. Fortunately, they give people prosecco while they wait for a table.
A mini tin of olive oil for our table.
Here they have a €25 three course dinner option which is all seafood they got that day.
Blocking Adam's view.
Mussels and pumpkin pasta. So good.
