Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 54: Bed Bar

Day 54: Bed Bar

Okay, I'll admit it. This is the most hungover I've been this trip which is quite extraordinary considering it's day 54 and there seems to have been a real wine focus. But hey, when you do a pintxos crawl and you couple each bar with a drink and then bring a bottle of wine home to continue the drinking and chatting, things catch up with you. Long story short, it was a bit of a slow day with much napping and feeling fragile.

Sometimes I feel like San Sebastian just puts on the cute village vibe. Like everywhere you go there is someone playing music (seriously, we were just standing in a little street and out of nowhere a marching band came around the corner) and people …

Sometimes I feel like San Sebastian just puts on the cute village vibe. Like everywhere you go there is someone playing music (seriously, we were just standing in a little street and out of nowhere a marching band came around the corner) and people dancing in the street. Like these guys. I think they were trying to do a Guinness World Record. No really, there were signs about it.

Nothing like curing a hangover than with some more pintxos. My body couldn't handle any more txakoli so Coke it was.

This place was pretty homely which I liked. This was veal which was super tender.

Ravioli, which almost tasted like an Asian dumpling of sorts. How I miss Asian food.

Creamy, cheesy risotto. Pleasing.

Even though Zeruko was hectic the night before, we had to go back because the food was so good. While still busy, we managed to wrangle a seat.

We got the codfish again because it was just that good.

And the sea urchin too. Oh man, it was amazing. Even if you don't like sea urchin, you might actually like this.

Everyone told us to go to La Vina for "the best cheesecake ever" so, of course, we had to see what the fuss was about.

It was good, but was it the best cheesecake ever? Not for me, Papa's Pasticceria still has my heart.

We started with foie gras nigiri which was a nice nod to our time in Europe and our upcoming time in Japan. Actually no, we got it because I rarely get to eat foie gras and I was desperately missing white rice. This was actually delicious.

Dumplings! Yes, we spent our last night in Europe not eating proper European food.
