Typhoooooon!

Wow. I’ve never experienced a typhoon like that before. People were being blown over, trees were falling down, countless umbrellas met their end. We were battling the storm to keep a reservation for cocktails at the Park Hyatt with some friends from Sydney. There were no cabs as some train lines were cancelled, so we had to walk from Shinjuku station to the hotel. A simple 15 minute walk turned into a 45 minute trek through wind and rain. But we made it in the end to be greeted by the staff who were prepared with towels so we could dry off. I definitely needed a strong cocktail after that!
