Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 28: Sardinia Bound

Day 28: Sardinia Bound

The weather when we left Capri was perfect. While some would see this as a bummer because we didn't get the best weather in Capri, it actually meant hoards of tourists waiting in line for the funicular, buses and generally milling around like lost souls at the port. With our not-so-perfect weather the day before, there were no lines at all, which was actually a blessing in itself.

After hustling for a ferry ticket back to Napoli (again, with day crowds taking advantage of the perfect weather, it means that the ferry trips back to the mainland were almost all but booked out). Luckily for us, we got the ferry time we were hoping for and spent the next few hours enjoying lunch (finally, a salad!) by the water.

One final breakfast in Capri.

Salad for lunch, please. We managed to make this salad lunch last for about an hour and a half while waiting for our boat.

The duty free area of Napoli airport is pretty epic. So much pasta, olive oil, cured meats and cheese.

It was pretty late by the time we got to Cagliari in Sardinia. The plane was virtually empty and we had a very rare moment of getting seats 1A and 1B. We dropped our bags off at Hotel Flora after picking up our little Fiat 500 at the airport and hit our street to find some food.

We found this little "slow fast food" restaurant just down the road called MC Puddu which served traditional Sardinian food. We couldn't read much on the menu, so basically took what restaurant Italian we knew and ordered. Aaaand it turned out alright.

Adam got himself some meatballs with tomato sauce and I got some Culurgiones (Sardinian ravioli filled with cheese) and we declared dinner a winner.

Cheese filled ravioli topped with more cheese and some extra virgin olive oil.

The shower at our hotel. This was so high tech (or broken) that I couldn't actually get the shower to work. I did, however, have a nice steam.

With less than 12 hours in Cagliari (I wish we made more time for this town) we were on to Cala Gonone up the coast.
