Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 1: Homeless For 10 Hours

Day 1: Homeless For 10 Hours

After 13 long, sleepless hours on the plane (and watching almost the entirety of season one of Sex And The City), we got to LA.

We landed at the rather inconvenient time of 6.30am which meant we couldn't check into our Airbnb for ten whole hours. Fortunately Trey and Susan, our Angeleno friends, were around (having just had a baby four weeks ago) so we caught up with them and met baby Sydney (named after the time they spent living in Sydney!), each of us suffering from various degrees of sleep deprivation.

Tired, plane smelly and in desperate need of a shower and a whole lot of tacos, we managed to check in to our cute little place in Silverlake at 4pm. To celebrate we bought some Modelos, rose, drank them on our little balcony and tried to stay up until 10pm to dodge jet lag.

Spoiler alert: we failed.

Our attractive airport security photos. They kind of look like a "sketch" filter you'd find on Photoshop.

Getting a US SIM card was surprisingly easy, THANK GOODNESS. This look is a mixture of SIM card smugness and "just let me have a shower."

Cold pressed juice. Exactly what I needed after the flight.

My brand new Raden suitcases arrived! Helloooo smart luggage! Seriously, they can weigh themselves, charge your devices and tell you where it is if it goes missing.

Finally... Tacos! I have been missing the sweet, sweet taste of tacos in LA for three years.

Our little hummingbird neighbours. You don't even want to know how many photos I took just to get this one.

The first evening... And then we fell asleep before the sun set.
