Hello.

My husband and I left our lives in Sydney to go travelling for the rest of 2016. What started as a one month honeymoon has turned into a four month adventure.

Day 26: Rain Don't Kill My Vibe

Day 26: Rain Don't Kill My Vibe

Ugh. Rain. Who would have thought it rained in the Amalfi?

We were woken at 8am from the boat company saying that no boats were leaving from Positano that day because of the rough seas. We needed a change of plan. Transfer to Sorrento, it was! Sure it cost a bit more in the car but we were assured we would get to Capri.

Boat tickets purchased with some time to kill, we did what any person with spare time would do: eat. We found a touristy restaurant out of the rain and tucked into some seafood pasta. Not bad, not great and there was a hair in it, but that's okay... We were on our way to Capri!

Adam wanted carbonara even though his face doesn't indicate this.

Seafood pasta for me.

I was concerned this may make me sick but we survived! And it was actually really good.

And Iiiiiiiiii remember, a sweet Sorrento moon. Except that it's raining and a little bit cold.

All smiles until the rough as hell boat ride. I listened to a meditation podcast and focussed on not throwing up.

We made it to Capri! It was a bit miserable, but Franco (the guy who owned the guest house we were staying at) came to pick us up which was  a bit of a godsend.

The rain stopped so we took a little walk around Anacapri. It was a Sunday so NOTHING was opened so it was pretty deserted. We couldn't find anywhere to buy water.

The chairlift to the top of the mountain. Nice idea, but why only one person at a time?!

The weather cleared up! This is the garden-y view from our hotel.

Dinner at a little local restaurant: La Taberna degli Amici. The lady who worked there was super sweet and gave us some limencello made from lemons from her own garden.

Mixed seafood starter. It doesn't look great, I know buuuuut it was actually delicious.

Our pasta were served in this ceramic pots (which we think had nothing to do with the cooking process). Mussels and clams for one dish and a pappardelle with rabbit for the other.

I have accepted the fact that nothing photographed well in this restaurant. After a bottle of house wine, a whole lot of carbs and some limoncello, we wandered back to the guest house and slept like babies (babies that sleep well, that is).
